全聚德 - 北京烤鸭 Peking Roast Duck

Last night my colleague brought me to a nice restaurant serving Peking Roast Duck. I was wondering 2 persons can finish whole bird of duck?!?! Luckily the restaurant serve half duck so we ordered half duck, sour and spicy cucumber and duck meat fried rice.

Chef cut few pieces best part of the duck skin. These duck skin melt in your mouth. It is different from the Peking Duck that I had in KL.

Duck meat fried rice, the taste not bad. Just that both of us too ambitious order the fried rice. At the end, we take away the left over fried rice and the duck.

Seafood Lunch @ Lamma Island

I spent my last Sunday at Lamma Island(南丫岛) Hong Kong. I heard from my Hong Kong colleagues saying the seafood there is very fresh and nice. After my hiking trail is already 3pm afternoon and I was so worried that the seafood restaurant is closed. Luckily all of them still open for business. =P

Finally I went to this Tai Yuen Seafood Restaurant (泰菀鱼翅海鲜酒家). The total cost for 1 person with all the foods below was HKD 220.00

Chinese Dumplings Dinner

Last night before I went to see apartment with my colleague, my colleague brought me to chinese dumplings shop(饺子店) in Jusco Qingdao for dinner. In northern region, dumplings is very common so I think should give a try. This shop serve different stuffing dumplings and soups.

For me I order one appetiser "Garlic Cucumber" (蒜泥黄瓜) and two type of dumplings "Pork with vegetables" (韭菜猪肉) and "Pork with Onions" (大葱猪肉).

Pork with vegetables" (韭菜猪肉) and "Pork with Onions" (大葱猪肉) - The stuffing very proportion and it taste good when you dip into chilies oil with vinegar.

Garlic Cucumber" (蒜泥黄瓜) - the cucumber so crunchy unlike the one I tried in Malaysia the cucumber is not crunchy and can't taste the garlic

The meal is so cheap. Each portion come with six dumplings and is only cost RMB 4.00 and the appetiser only cost RMB 5. Total cost for my dinner inclusive a drink is only RMB19.00.

First Dinner @ Qingdao

My first dinner in Qingdao was Korean food. There are plenty of Korean restaurants in Qingdao according to my colleague due to Qingdao is very near to Korea. We just went to the Korean restaurant that near the hotel that I'm staying. The moment we entered to the restaurant I found out alot of Korean eating there. My colleague told me probably some of them are Chinese with korean speaking.

We saw alot of people ordering the hotplate so we asked the waitress what are those? She told us is their shop hot selling dish Grill Spicy Duck. We decided to order that to give a try. On top of that we also ordered Kimchi pan cake.

Bird Nest

Today my mum made bird nest soup "Yin Wor" for us. I was requesting my mum to make it for me before I go to China. When I told my mum, she said she already soaked the bird nest and preparing it today. After dinner mum told me the "Yin Wor" is ready!

Before I go to sleep, I took the "Yin Wor". Some people said is good to eat it before go to bed. Some Hongkies said that the best time to eat it at 4am morning!! Me definitely not going to wake up and eat it!!!Hahaha......After I scoped it out, I snap some photos of it cause that's my mum "Oi Sum Yin Wor"!! Thanks mum for making such a nice "Yin Wor"!

Dinner @ Kim Gary Mid Valley

Last night I went to Mid Valley for movie. After movie, I went to Kim Garry with my colleagues for dinner. I ordered the "Four Seas Noodle Set". Typically you tick what you want so my colleague and I choose to have that noodle set. After 1o minutes, my colleague Jackal called me that the meal that I ordered is not available during dinner time.

I think they should inform us that the meal is not available when he confirm the orders with us. They only informed us that after 1o minutes which making me not happy. The thing is I can't find a single word saying that meal is only available for "Lunch". I felt that I'm being cheated!

When I try to ask them why the meal is not available for dinner but it printed on the menu and waitress just walk away like not her problem! On top of that when they told us the meal is not available they just gave back the paper that we ordered which is not available and not even a menu or new ticking menu for us to reorder the food. I was damn piss!!! Probably you will think this is a small matter.

From now on, I won't be dining at Kim Gary. Anyway I find the food not that great!

BBQ Dinner @ home

It has been more than half a year we didn't do any BBQ at home. Finally last weekend my brother suggested to have BBQ dinner at home. My brother loves cooking and most of the weekend he cooks dinner for us. As usual my brother was the main chef !! I'm the chef helper to prepare all the side dishes. Our main course is Rib Eye Steak.

We started our dinner with Brie cheese with crackers and wine. We were chit chatting while waiting the food to serve.

All of us enjoyed the dinner very much! Thanks "ko"!!!

Dine @ Bidor Pun Chun Restaurant

Yesterday after my gua tempurung adventurous we decided to have our lunch at Bidor. We went to the famous restaurant in the town Pun Chun Restaurant. This restaurant famous with the Duck Soup Noodle.

The soup abit salty and the noodle abit bland. I need to add soya sauce into it. The noodle is not up to my expectation.

I think the best duck noodle was back in my home town. The chinese herbs in the soup is just nice and not too salty and is hot till no steam coming out . The noodle texture just nice and they don't use dark soya sauce for the noodle. Unfortunately the shop closed down due to the owner in old age. I miss that very much!

Japanese Pan Cake

Last night after had my dinner, I tried to find something sweet to finish off my meal! Usually I won't crave for sweet stuff but some how I feel like having sweet stuff. I was at Takashimaya basement where selling all the food so I pass by this Japanese Pan Cake store and I saw lot's of flavour of Japanese Pan Cake. In my thought I should give a try and I pick Strawberry with Cheese flavour.

I find is quite a good bargain for a dessert. It taste good, not too sweet and it is generous with the strawberry filling. I think is worth for my SGD 1.30

Dine @ Fogal Meat Market

Last week one of ex-colleague from Penang came down to KL for work so I met her up for dinner. Our original plan was after dinner we meet other friends at Wow Wow Cafe at Plaza Damas so we decided to have our dinner at Plaza Damas. At first thought of having Vietnamese food. I wanted to bring her to something she haven't try before and ended up I brought my ex-colleague to Fogal Meat Market.

This shop basically selling meat. In the same time, they also serve the food at their shop. We ordered Sausages meal and Burger meal. All the meals came with 2 side dishes from chip, mash potato, wedges, salad, coleslaw and steam vegetables. My friend chose beef sausages and pork sausages with wedges and coleslaw and I chose Beef Burger with mash potato and salad. I wanted to try the lamb burger but my friend she don't eat lamb so i take the beef burger.

My friend enjoy the meal very much at the restaurant. She said she will bring her boss to this restaurant.

alexis Bistro @ Gardens

Two weeks ago I went to my client site at Mid Valley. My colleague and I is reached there about 2pm and we haven't have our lunch. We pass by alexis bistro @ Gardens.

We decided to have lunch @ alexis bistro. Every day alexis have set lunch and we decided to take the set lunch.

My colleague took the Set Lunch A @ RM28.00. Set Lunch A consist of Prawn cakes with special sambal (Appetizer), Nasi Lemak, Squid Sambal, fried prawns and dessert is sago gula melaka. The prawn cakes with the special sambal is very good and you can taste the chunk of prawn. When the food served that we are too hungry and I totally forgot to take the picture. =P

Myself taking the Set Lunch B @ RM 25.00. Set Lunch B consists of Soup of the day, alexis club sandwich and dessert of the day. My soup of the day was pumpkin soup. The soup very creamy, pumpkin taste very strong and the serving of the soup is huge. For the club sandwich, they are very generous with the meat in the sandwich, they also put avocado and the bread is soft. My dessert was the Chocolate Cake. By the time I finished my soup and sandwich I already very full and decided to take away my dessert.

If you asked me which set lunch is better, I'll choose the club sandwich set lunch. ;)
